these bases are wood turned australian timber forms handmade for domestic interiors and commercial spaces. they are made from solid australian reclaimed native hardwoods, sourced from piers, telegraph poles, railways and old wool stores.

each signature piece is hand turned, hand finished and signed. the works are made in limited editions investigating raw materials, design and shapes. the natural markings found in each object, map a history of seasonal diversity and insect activity. natural splits and weathering of the timber detail and strengthen their timelessness.

used in interior spaces as stools/pedestals or low tables, these objects (which are both sculptural and functional) are often placed in clusters together, beside a sofa or bed, or simply as stand-alone objects.

timber is a breathing, hydroscopic material that is subject to radial shrinkage. the bases can change/move in time, due to the natural taking up and releasing of moisture or with exposure to heat e.g. when left near glass windows. we do not recommend positioning the works near direct sunlight or ducted heating.

caring for your eco friendly stools will enhance their lifespan and appearance. twice a year, we recommend buffing in a coat of danish oil.
