terunobu hirata is a melbourne based potter who studied at the warrandyte potter's college in the 1990's. in that time he also studied alongside a number of traditional potters in japan with a particular influence on japanese bizen pottery. this body of work is a hand thrown altered stoneware vase. hirata has used the faceting technique on this body of work to create functional and masterful beauty.
