david’s pots aspire to the simplicity and dignity of the above tradition. he uses texture through incised lines and asymmetrical rims and distortions of the standard shape. the surface is then treated with an iron or cobalt slip and then covered with a calcium matt glaze. many of the pots are finished off with wood ash sprayed onto them. the firing process melts all these competing ingredients into the end result.
