stories are told of the kaliny-kaliny or honey grevillea flower, which is a favourite bush food of the anangu pitjantjatjara people. the honey grevillea grown in the sandy soils on the plains. the flowers can be picked and placed in a billycan to create honey water (cordial) or can be sucked for their sweet honey dew.
this original artwork has been hand painted by aboriginal artists at the ernabella arts centre. ernabella arts centre is a place where elders, young women and men practice their art, in order to sustain, support and promote cultural heritage and improve the lifestyle of their communities members.
