terunobu hirata is works in stoneware and porcelain. hirata studied at the warrandyte potter's college in the 1990's. in that time he also studied alongside a number of traditional potters in japan with a particular influence on japanese bizen pottery.
this piece is hand thrown stoneware with a two piece join in the middle of the work. watertight.
